A COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF FRACTURE STRENGTH OF INDIRECT COMPOSITE VENEERS, PRESSABLE VENEERS, CAD/CAM VENEERS AND NO PREPARATION VENEERS: AN IN VITRO STUDY.
Abstract
Aim: The objective of the present study is to compare in vitro fracture strengths of indirect composite veneers, pressable veneers, CAD/ CAM veneers and no preparation veneers.
Materials and Methods: Sixty extracted human maxillary central incisors with comparable dimensions were selected for this in vitro study. Teeth were then randomly divided into six groups of 10 specimens each. Tooth preparation was done on all teeth and veneers were fabricated. Fracture test was performed on universal testing machine and results are noted.
Results: the results were statistically analysed by Least Significant Difference and ANOVA tests
Conclusion: CAD/ CAM veneers showed highest strength and pressable veneers showed least strength because of their compositions and fabrication methods
